World record holder Tobi Amusan equaled her season’s best of 12.28s to win the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday.
Amusan stormed to victory ahead of American pair Grace Stark, who finished second in 12.38s, and Alaysha Johnson, who placed third in 12.39s.
The Nigerian produced a strong finish after reeling in Nadine Visser, who had taken an early lead, before pulling clear of the field to secure a comfortable victory.
It was the 28-year-old’s third 12.28s of the season, following performances in the Xiamen Diamond League and Rabat Diamond League in May.
Amusan’s victory was her second on the Diamond League circuit this season, following her win in Rabat. She also won the New Taipei City Athletics Open earlier this month.
The Nigerian began the season by winning his fourth African title in a row, and he has continued to gain momentum with each outing as he prepares for the Diamond League final and the Commonwealth Games later this year.
Amusan, who won the Diamond League three times in a row from 2021 to 2023, will look to recapture the title this season.
