Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, stated on Monday that President Bola Tinubu is “not worried” about the outcome of the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
Speaking on Channel Television’s Politics Today, Ngelale stated that “he’s not worried simply because he knows he won the election”.
His statement comes on the heels of the confirmation by the registrar of the court of appeal, Umar Bangari, who confirmed that the court has chosen Wednesday, September 6, to deliver judgement on the petitions challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
In the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu secured 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 6,984,520, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who polled 6,101,533 votes.
Discontented with the outcome of the election, five political parties—the PDP, the LP, the Action Peoples Party, the Allied Peoples Movement, and the Action Alliance—submitted separate applications before the tribunal, requesting that Tinubu’s victory be annulled.
