President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
The president’s plane landed at Zayed International Airport about 11:30 p.m. local time, where he was met by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tinubu is in the UAE on the official invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The annual conference provides a global forum for world leaders, industry professionals, and civil society organizations to discuss crucial problems concerning energy innovation and the financial infrastructure needed for renewable energy transitions.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the visit underscores the strengthening alliance between Nigeria and the UAE, particularly in green energy and economic cooperation.
The statement revealed that during the summit, Tinubu will aim to position Nigeria as a leading player in sustainable development, seeking to attract foreign investment and foster partnerships that align with the country’s national growth objectives.
The 2026 edition, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” focuses on bridging the gap between climate ambition and tangible action through three primary pillars: innovation, finance, and people.
