President Bola Tinubu received Abia State Governor Alex Otti at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
Chronicle NG gathered that Otti arrived at the president’s office complex dressed in grey, knee-length traditional attire.
Otti’s visit comes after a recent journey to the Sokoto Correctional Centre, when he met with Nnamdi Kanu, the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
He was accompanied by Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu; Abia State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN; and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
Officials from the Sokoto State Government facilitated his access to the prison.
Speaking with media after the Sokoto visit, the governor underlined that addressing concerns surrounding Kanu’s arrest remains a critical priority for his administration.
Otti, through his media aide, emphasized that Abia State is pursuing a concerted and legal campaign to seek Kanu’s release.
“While Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is free to appeal his conviction, I’m happy to inform you that I have activated and will continue to work on the already agreed strategy until his freedom is secured,” Otti said.
Tuesday’s meeting with Tinubu is part of the governor’s continuous political and legal efforts to resolve the long-running issue.
