No fewer than three people have been killed and several others abducted after a group of armed terrorists launched series of attacks in Katsina State on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

During Ishai prayer yesterday night, the terrorists opened fire on unsuspecting Muslim worshippers, killing three of them in the horrifying incident.

According to a source who narrated the incident, he said, “The assailants descended upon our Muslim brothers during Ishai prayer.

“Tragically, two of them lost their lives within the mosque premises, while a third met a fatal end outside the mosque while attempting to escape the onslaught.

“Four others sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kankara.

The chaos, he said, boomeranged as the terrorists further abducted a man and two women during the attack.

“Unfortunately, the man’s refusal to go with the assailants cost him his life, as he was mercilessly butchered for daring to defy the abductors,” the source revealed.

In another incident around 2:30 am today, the marauding terrorists targeted the residence of Sani Maikifi, a vigilante member, in Ungwar Tudun Boka within Kankara town.

However, Sani managed to escape through his backyard, evading the clutches of the hoodlums.

However, his wife and son were not as fortunate. They were abducted by the hoodlums.

According to the source, the hoodlums, who had been tailing Sani for some time, attacked discreetly, penetrating the community within Kankara township without raising any alarms.

In a separate attack, at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, armed persons stormed Dangani in Musawa local government, shooting intermittently.

According to one account, the crooks were tracking down a wealthy guy from the south who had come to the area to express his sympathies to a bereaved relative.

He was fortunate to have evaded their grasp. In response, the hoodlums kidnapped a large number of people from the region, according to the source.
