    Tammy Abraham signed a new five year deal at Chelsea before heading on loan to Swansea

    Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has signed a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and joined Swansea City on a season-long loan deal.

    The striker moves to the Welsh club, where he will be managed by former Chelsea assistant first team coach Paul Clement, having enjoyed a fruitful spell at Bristol City in the Championship last season.

    During his time at Ashton Gate the young striker impressed, finding the net 26 times in all competitions.

    Abraham’s goal in a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, his 16th in the league, ensured he became the highest-scoring teenager in Championship history.

    He ended the campaign by picking up the Bristol City Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

    Abraham has been part of the Chelsea Academy since Under-8s and his goals played a pivotal part in ensuring The Blues won back-to-back FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League trophies in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

    He was handed his Chelsea first team debut in a Premier League away game against Liverpool as the 2015/16 season drew to a close, and also featured in the following match against Leicester City.

    Having represented England at Under-18 and Under-19 level, Abraham scored a brace on his full debut for the Under-21s last October and was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championships in Poland.

    Meanwhile, Malaga have been in talks with Swansea over a possible season-long loan deal for striker Borja Baston.

    The 24-year-old Spaniard joined for a club record £15.5m fee from Atletico Madrid in August 2016, but has only scored once.
