The Federal Government has hailed the Super Falcons for their successful qualification for the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON), slated for Morocco.
The Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh, said the team displayed an impressive level of determination and teamwork, securing vital victories during the qualifiers to solidify their place in the prestigious WAFCON.
He lauded the Super Falcons for their remarkable effort in showcasing the nation’s prowess on the continental stage.
“Congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their successful qualification for the African Women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco in 2024,” Enoh said.
“Having edged Cape Verde 2-1 in Praia to claim an aggregate win of 7-1, you have solidified your place in the championship.
“Throughout the qualifying matches, you all played impressively and displayed great teamwork.
“Your talent and dedication are glaring and speak to the rich sporting heritage of Nigeria.
“Today we celebrate you as the most successful team in the tournament, having won nine out of thirteen editions of the biennial championship.
“Dear Super Falcons, your unwavering commitment to excellence has made Nigeria proud. We are all rooting for you. Let’s do it again!
