Nigerian comedian Lawrence Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly called SeyiLaw, has berated the Nigeria Immigration Service over the arrest of popular crossdresser Bobrisky.
In a statement on his verified Instagram page on Friday, SeyiLaw questioned the NIS for arresting and humiliating the controversial crossdresser.
His comment comes after operatives of the NIS apprehended Bobrisky aboard an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight on Thursday night while attempting to leave the country.
Reacting to his arrest, the comedian said, “I don’t understand this Bobrisky’s case. Did any court ask him not to travel? Why allow him to get on the plane and humiliate him like this?”
On 22 October, the controversial crossdresser was intercepted at the Sème border while allegedly attempting to flee the country.
The controversy surrounding him began in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for naira abuse.
Although he was formally detained at Kirikiri Prison, sources later claimed that Bobrisky spent only three weeks there before being surreptitiously transported to a secret location.
