The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to creating an environment that is favorable for the growth of the creative industry.

At the Federal Palace Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday, the UNESCO Report on African Fashion was launched.

The governor made this statement during his speech as the Special Guest.

The state government, he continued, is deliberate and dedicated to establishing the state as a top travel and creative destination.

This was announced by the state administration on Saturday in a post uploaded on its X account.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the state government is dedicated to increasing its investment in the creative industry through a variety of programmes, initiatives, and partnerships. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the state commissioner for tourism, arts, and culture, was present at the event.

He claims that the current administration’s efforts in the industry are paying off, and he goes on to say that the Lagos State Government, in partnership with Gidi Creative Centre, graduated about 200 young people on Wednesday with filmmaking training.

Sanwo-Olu asserted that his administration is prepared to strengthen its cooperation with UNESCO as the objectives of the state and the organization are similar, even as he noted that Lagos is exceptional in a number of areas, including its famous heritage monuments, socioeconomic activities, and nightlife.
