Many Nigerians have reacted in amazement to the image of a grave on the Internet, allegedly linked to the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The inscription reads, “Sanwo-Olu, empty vault.” Eyewitnesses said it is located at Ikoyi Cemetery in Lagos.

Chronicle NG cannot independently verify the claim making the rounds if the empty grave in Ikoyi cemetery belonged to the Sanwo-Olu’s family.

Reacting to the image of the grave in Ikoyi cemetery on Meta, a popular blog, Gistlover queried, “Is it good and advisable for someone who is still alive and healthy to acquire his or her own tomb?

Emmanuel Nwachukwu stated, “In our culture, the concept of constructing a burial vault may seem unfamiliar, but in Western societies, meticulous planning, even for funerals, is common. I believe it’s a practical approach that encourages living with awareness of our mortality. Just my two cents.”

Benedict Mboto noted, “Our politicians are so amazing. If Yahaya Bello can pay for his children’s school fees upfront until they graduate and there is an excess balance with the school, then I’m not moved by this one. Do you think they don’t know what they’re doing? Don’t be surprised; some are already negotiating for a comfortable place in hell so they can pay at once.”

Elizabeth Idowu wrote, “It may be for the elders in the family, not necessarily for the governor (Sanwo-Olu). This particular vault is on the public side of the Ikoyi Cemetery, not in the VIP area.”

“Don’t be surprised if they finally found money inside the tomb; anything is possible in Nigeria, my country, Rosita Frank claimed.”

Brand Chizzy commented, “Remember, this world is not our ultimate home. While we strive to make our time here meaningful, let’s also prepare ourselves for the journey that awaits beyond this earthly realm. Let’s live fully, love deeply, and leave a legacy that transcends our physical presence. That’s why you have to repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.”
