Pundits call Salah ‘disgrace’ ‘over thrown under the bus’ comment

Pundits have labeled Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah a “disgrace” who has created “carnage” at the club as the aftermath of his explosive interview lingers.

Salah expressed that he feels he has been “thrown under the bus” after being benched for

Liverpool’s last three challenging matches resulted in his omission from the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan.

The comments of the two-time Premier League champion have sparked sharp criticism from former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher and ex-Blackburn and Celtic forward Chris Sutton.

“I considered it a disgrace,” Carragher expressed on Sky Sports. “Some have described it as an emotional eruption.” I don’t believe it was.

“I thought it was a disgrace,” Carragher said on Sky Sports. “Some have painted it as an emotional outburst. I don’t think it was.

“When Mo Salah stops in the mixed zone—which he has done four times in eight years—it is choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position.”

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Sutton said, “Liverpool is carnage because of Mo Salah.

“He’s been honest and open, but he’s made it all about him and not the team. He’s been extremely selfish—that’s what he’s done because now there’s a bit of a civil war at Liverpool, and it didn’t need to be like this.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot stated that he was “surprised” by Salah’s comments that their relationship had broken down completely and had “no clue” if the 33-year-old would play for the club again.

“I don’t feel my authority is undermined—it is not the way I feel it,” added Slot in Milan on Monday.

“After tomorrow we will look at the situation. There is always the possibility to return for a player.”

The Egyptian winger will leave for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) next Monday, but with uncertainty surrounding his future at Anfield, it is unclear if he will participate in Saturday’s Premier League home match against Brighton (15:00 GMT).
