Nigerian street-pop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, has revealed plans to return to school to boost his understanding of music management and business operations.

The Zazoo Zehh crooner disclosed this in a video posted on his Instagram page on Saturday, stressing that education is key to balancing fame with professionalism.

Portable, who already holds a National Diploma from Kwara State Polytechnic, said he is determined to further his studies to strengthen his record label, Zeh Nation.

“Even though I already have an OND, I still want to go back to school. I sponsor people and my children too, so I don’t want stories like ‘Portable didn’t go to school’ in the future,” he said. “I want to understand my royalties, contracts and business deals better, especially for Zeh Nation.”

The 31-year-old added that his decision isn’t about chasing certificates but about acquiring knowledge to manage his brand more professionally without depending on others.

Known for his electrifying performances and outspoken nature, Portable has often found himself in the spotlight for controversies.

In April, Fuji star Saheed Osupa withdrew a legal case against him after accusing Portable of defamation and threats over a copyright dispute involving the song Fuji Shakushaku. The withdrawal came after interventions from notable Nigerians, with Osupa urging Portable to use the opportunity for “reflection, growth and transformation.”

Earlier this year, Portable also clashed with Ogun State Government officials after his uncompleted building and hotel were sealed for alleged illegal development. He was later arrested and arraigned in Abeokuta before being granted bail.

Despite his troubles, Portable insists he is focused on personal growth, professionalism, and making Zeh Nation a respected brand in the Nigerian music scene.
