No fewer than six men have been arrested by the police for raping a 12-year-old girl in the Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The girl (name withheld) was ambushed by the men and brought to their hideout when she was running errands for her parents.
Ishma’il, 60; Ibrahim Umar, 45; Mustapha Sani, 44; Dauda Garba, 40; Tukur Bawa, 38; and Muktar Muhammad, 28, are among the suspects.
After performing the act, it was learned that they were captured by Hisbah Command members at several points in Argungu.
While being questioned by the command’s officials, the suspects admitted to committing the crime, according to a director at the Hisbah Command in Birnin Kebbi.
He continued by saying that the criminal investigation division of the police command in Birnin Kebbi had been tasked with conducting additional research on the suspects and the victim.
The suspects’ detention was confirmed by the Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, who also stated that the CID at the Birnin Kebbi police command is looking into the matter.
