    Osinbajo‎ in Maiduguri, visits bomb blast victims at UMTH

    The Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Thursday for a one day official visit.

    His visit came few hours after Boko Haram terrorists invaded Maiduguri, leaving so many people dead.

    Osinbajo, who was received by the Borno State Governor, Hon. Kashim Shettima arrived the Maiduguri International Airport at about 10:34 am.

    The visit according to the Vice President was at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari and its main purpose to see the security situation in the state and also to visit and ascertain the welfare of the IDPs.

    Osinbanjo’s firs point of call was the IDPs Camp at Dalori where he reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government forwards reconstruction of towns, villages, markets and schools, with a view of resettling them.

    He also visited bomb blast victims at the UMTH and was also at the Shehu’s palace to pay a homage on Shehu of Borno and other Emirs.

    Gov. Kashim Shettima in a speech, thanked the Vice President for the visit and for all the support they had been rendering to the State Government and the people of Borno in general.
