Napoli sticker Victor Osimhen finally ended his five-game goal drought on Wednesday, scoring Napoli’s second goal in their 4-1 home win over Udinese.

The Nigerian international scored in the 39th minute of the game, ending a dry spell of 485 minutes without scoring a goal.

Osimhen had an opportunity to put Napoli up against Udinese when they were awarded a penalty, but instead handed the ball to Piotr Zielinski, who scored in the 19th minute.

The Nigerian striker’s generosity was rewarded later in the game, as he easily dispatched the Partenopei’s second goal of the night 20 minutes later. This was his fourth goal of the season.

Despite the fact that his relationship with the club had soured in the previous 24 hours, Osimhen was selected to start the game.

Osimhen, who fired Napoli to their first league title in over 30 years last season, was the target of a video where he was mocked by his own club on social media on Tuesday.

The Nigerian, who scored 62 goals in 107 appearances for the Serie A side, had a rare penalty miss, yet the video appeared to mock him for his attempts to persuade for the penalty to be given.

The video shows the 24-year-old begging for a penalty but using an unusually sped-up voice with the caption ‘Gimme penalty, please’ before sending the spot-kick wide of the post.
