Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could take legal action against the club following a video “mocking” him on their official TikTok, according to the player’s agent, Roberto Calenda.

Nigerians on social media were left disappointed with the video (already pulled down), which came after Osimhen missed a late penalty in the Naples-based club’s last 0-0 draw against Bologna on Sunday.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Calenda described the video as unacceptable.

The statement read, “What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, belatedly, deleted.

“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

Osimhen moved to Napoli from French Lille Metropolin 2021 for a club-record fee of €70 million, potentially rising to €80 million with add-ons.

The Nigerian international helped the Neopolitans to their first Scudetto title in over three decades, scoring a staggering 26 goals and finishing as the league’s top scorer.
