Nollywood actress and television host Osas Ighodaro has secured a lead role in the upcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series Imported Bahu.
The project, which was officially announced on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, stars Ighodaro with Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a plot about love, family secrets, and a cross-cultural romance.
Ahuja announced the production via Instagram on Monday, describing Imported Bahu as Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series.
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one imported Bahu who turns everything upside down,” she wrote.
According to the teaser, the plot revolves around Bahu Mehra, the son of an affluent Indian family who traveled overseas.
His family had expected him to return with imported gifts, but they were surprised when he returned with Nigerian Zara Ogun, played by Ighodaro.
Zara Ogun, the multimillionaire CEO of Oguns Fashion, is shown as bold and confident, despite facing rejection from the Buhu family.
The producer also said that the series will premiere exclusively on LebaraPlay, Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform, on July 2, 2026.
Ahuja, who is known for promoting collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood, has previously produced films such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards.
The new series is anticipated to continue her attempts to bring African and Indian storytelling together through cross-cultural projects.
Ighodaro’s casting signals another step forward in her career, increasing her visibility on the international entertainment arena.
The actress has received praise for her roles in films and television, as well as her work as a television host and former beauty queen.
Imported Bahu’s trailer has already been released ahead of its July launch, sparking excitement among lovers of both Nollywood and Bollywood shows.
