    Omah Lay reacts to first Grammy nomination, roots for Davido

    Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has reacted to his maiden Grammy nomination.

    Chronicle NG reports that Omah Lay earned his first-ever Grammy nomination for his collaborative hit with Davido, “With You,” which was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

    Reacting via his Instagram page, Omah Lay said he was excited about the nomination but added that he doesn’t care much about awards.

    He, however, stated that he wants Davido to win the award, describing him as his “realest friend in a while.”

    “I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha, but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while; he stood by me during my hardest times,” Omah Lay wrote.

    Davido is yet to win a Grammy despite previously receiving four nominations, including two in the Best African Music Performance category, which he has been consistently nominated in since its introduction in 2023.

    The 2026 Grammy Awards are scheduled for February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with a global broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
