Michael Olise netted a superb goal as France played out a draw with Italy in the Nations League.
This marked Zinedine Zidane’s first home match in charge of France, following two away victories during this international break.
At the Stade de France, Olise broke the deadlock from outside the area with a strike that went in off the underside of the crossbar, after Rayan Cherki laid a free kick off to him.
Olise, who plays for Bayern Munich, has had a hand in 14 goals across 15 appearances for France this year.
Italy equalized when Alessandro Bastoni dispossessed Lucas da Cunha and then beat Mike Maignan, who had come off his line, from the edge of the box.
France were reduced to ten men late on when Dayot Upamecano received a second yellow card.
Since Roberto Mancini returned as head coach, the Azzurri have recorded one win, one draw, and one defeat.
In another Group A1 fixture, Belgium now under the management of Mark van Bommel, defeated Turkey 3-0.
Kevin de Bruyne scored twice, while Romelu Lukaku added the other goal.
