    Oladapo Aborowa lauds NSCDC as champions of national security, public safety

    In a world filled with uncertainty, Oladapo Aborowa said that one security agency has consistently demonstrated its commitment to protecting lives and property, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

    As we go about our daily lives, it’s easy to overlook the selfless efforts of the NSCDC personnel who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our safety.

    Since its inception, the NSCDC has been at the forefront of national security, providing critical support to the military, police, and other security agencies. From counter-terrorism operations to disaster response, the corps has consistently demonstrated its versatility and bravery.

    A statement by Aborowa disclosed that under President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, and the NSCDC launched several innovative initiatives, including Mine Marshal, Safe School Initiative, Special Intelligence Squad, and Special Intelligent Corps.

    These initiatives have been well-received by sister security agencies and have fostered strong relationships with local residents, promoting a culture of security consciousness and encouraging community-led solutions to security challenges.

    Notably, the NSCDC’s Agro Rangers Unit has been instrumental in protecting farmers, farmlands, and agricultural investments, ensuring the country’s food security and sustainability. This initiative has not only enhanced national food production but is also providing a secure environment for farmers to thrive.

    In addition, the corps has revamped its training curriculum across all civil defence colleges, fostering a culture of career progression, professionalism, and enhanced performance to tackle emerging challenges. This commitment to excellence has significantly improved the Corps’ operational efficiency and effectiveness.

    Furthermore, in support of the government’s Safe School Initiative, the NSCDC has established a specialized female squad to provide security and safeguard schools. This initiative not only ensures a secure and conducive environment for students to thrive but also promotes women’s inclusion in security and public governance.

    The NSCDC’s community-centric approach has yielded significant dividends through enhanced security awareness, improved relationships, increased cooperation, and community empowerment, Aborowa highlighted.

    As we acknowledge NSCDC’s achievements, it’s essential that we recognise the importance of public support and appreciation. By supporting the corps, Aborowa advocated for a morale booster, enhancing collaboration, promoting national security, reinforcing the importance of national security, and encouraging collective responsibility.
