Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has lifted the suspension of 81 government personnel who were previously sanctioned for failing to attend an important state function.
Dr Monday Uzor, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, issued a statement on Tuesday that included the directive.
“The affected commissioners, Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Special Assistants (SAs) and permanent secretaries are to resume official duties immediately,” the statement read.
The political appointees suspended include 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries.
In a statement on Monday, Monday Uzor, chief press secretary to the Ebonyi governor, said the officials will proceed on a “one-month working suspension without salary”.
Nwifuru directed that the suspended officials should not sign any official document within the period of their suspension.
The CPS said the affected commissioner should hand over to their respective permanent secretaries.
In March, Nwifuru dismissed two of his aides from their positions over alleged misconduct.
Some of the affected officials include Felix Okemini, senior special assistant to the governor on security (Ebonyi North senatorial district), and Nnanna Nwangele, special assistant on airport security.
