Guinness World Records (GWR) has approved Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a Nigerian scholar, to attempt an astounding 150-hour non-stop lecture.

He hopes to break the record held by Indian Professor Arvin Mishra, who gave a 139-hour, 52-minute, 42-second lecture in 2014.

The marathon lecture, set for September 23-30 at Foreign Links College in Moro, Osun State, will focus on “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health.”

Dr. Akpan, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, wants to give back to the academic community while also raising awareness about the implications of environmental neglect on human health.

“I want to use this platform to educate students and the world about the importance of environmental conservation and its impact on human well-being,” he stated.

If successful, his feat will set a new global benchmark for marathon lectures, cementing Nigeria’s presence in the Guinness World Records.
