    Nigeria announces 1074 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,074 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

    The 1,074 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 88,587.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 660 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 642 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 30,830.

    • Nigeria announces 1,031 new coronavirus cases

    Kaduna state recorded 92 new cases, Rivers state reported 78, Federal Capital Territory recorded 66, Gombe state had 31 while Kano reported 35 new cases.

    Other states are Ogun-31, Katsina-22, Plateau-20, Abia-7, Niger-4, Oyo-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Delta-2 and Osun-2.

    NCDC reports that there are 88,587 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 74,373 discharged and 1,294 deaths.
