    Nigeria announces 1,031 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,031 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday.

    The 1,031 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 87,510.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 391 patients from isolation centers across the country with 10 new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 570 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 30,188.

    FCT recorded 117 new cases, Kaduna state reported 109, Nasarawa state recorded 34, Bauchi state had 31, Kano reported 28 while Plateau announced 26 new cases.

    Other states are , Sokoto-26, Ogun-25, Edo-18, Rivers-16, Abia-10, Imo-7, Taraba-6, Delta-4, and Osun-4.

    NCDC reports that there are 87,510 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 73,713 discharged and 1,289 deaths.
