Controversial social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is scheduled to appear in court today over allegations of impersonation.
The charges come after a recent viral video in which VeryDarkMan was seen in Nigeria Police Force uniforms “without authorisation.”
The Nigeria Police Force had condemned VeryDarkMan in the recently released video where he described himself as CSP VeryDarkMan and Nigeria’s “number one online police officer.”
The police disclosed this in a Friday post on its X account.
According to the announcement, the FCT Police Command is leading the prosecution, underscoring the force’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its uniforms and combating illegal use.
The public is encouraged to stay informed as the case moves forward in court.
The NPF’s statement read, “Martins Otse is set to appear in court today following allegations of impersonation related to the unauthorised use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video.
“The FCT Police Command is actively handling the case, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse.
