Following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal and endorsement, the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris, accepted her nomination as the Democratic Party presidential candidate.
Harris described her endorsement as an honour.
The VP said her intention was to earn and win this nomination.
“I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party, the VP said.
Harris affirmed that she will “defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”
She also requested campaign funding through a dedicated website: “If you’re with me, add a donation right now.”
The VP appreciated Biden’s extraordinary leadership as the United States President and his decades of service to our country on behalf of Americans.
Chronicle NG reported that Biden announced his end to his candidature for re-election, saying “it is in the best interest of my party and the country.”
It’s four months before Americans go to the polls, upsetting the race for the White House.
It followed weeks of intense pressure from fellow Democrats after a faltering debate performance against Republican Donald Trump at the end of June.
Following the announcement on Sunday evening, Biden endorsed Harris in the presidential race.
