Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, reportedly flew out of Nigeria a few days after being discharged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Although he did not identify his destination, Bobrisky declared in a series of videos posted to his Instagram story on Monday morning that he was flying first class.
“See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,” he boasted.
Bobrisky hilariously remarked on the disfigurement of his passport photo, saying, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
His departure comes on the heels of a series of events that unfolded last week.
Chronicle NG reports that the cross-dresser was stopped and removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to travel to London on Thursday night.
He claimed to have been injured during the event and updated his social media followers accordingly.
Following the scuffle, he was transported to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was reportedly questioned about allegations that he bribed officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.
He was eventually released on bail on Saturday after allegedly denying bribing the EFCC in a confessional statement given at the commission’s headquarters.
Bobrisky’s legal woes started in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison for drug misuse.
Although first imprisoned at Kirikiri Prison, rumours indicate that he was only detained for three weeks before being surreptitiously transported to an unidentified private location.
The issue worsened in September when a social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, published an audio tape allegedly revealing Bobrisky discussing the payment of EFCC officials to drop money laundering accusations against him.
