A 36-year-old woman, simply identified as Abiola, has been confirmed dead while undergoing a buttocks enlargement procedure (BBL) at a clinic in the Lekki-Phase 1 area of Lagos State.

A buttock enlargement procedure, commonly known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, BBL, is a cosmetic surgery that involves removing fat from other parts of the body and injecting it into the buttocks to achieve a rounder and fuller shape.
A police source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the incident, told our correspondent that the woman had left her home in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki area of the state, and instructed her driver to take her to the clinic for the operation.
Upon arrival at the clinic, our correspondent discovered that the clinic owner had directed a nurse to administer an injection to the young woman.
However, immediately after receiving the injection, Abiola reportedly passed out and began gasping for air.
To treat the situation and avoid further difficulties, the deceased was transported to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1, where she was pronounced dead.
