The Supreme Court upheld Bala Mohammed’s election as governor of Bauchi State.

Sadique Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Bauchi State election, filed an appeal, which was dismissed by a five-member court panel.

While acknowledging that the appeal was meritless, the Supreme Court upheld the ruling of the Court of Appeal, which confirmed the election of the PDP candidate and dismissed the case.

The appellant claims that the tribunal neglected to rule on the invalid electoral documents presented as evidence before it.

Although INEC informed the Supreme Court that the tribunal discovered blank spaces in some of the electoral forms but not all of them, there was no evidence of incorrectly filled forms at the tribunal.
