Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared a three-day mourning and prayers in honour of the late Secretary to Government, Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi.
The governor led members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to Oluwatuyi’s wife and family in Akure and promised support.
The mourning and prayers will take place from January 5-7.
According to him, the late SSG “lived a fulfilled life and made positive impacts on many people.”
Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday while undergoing medical treatment in a hospital following a car accident.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the state’s history would not be complete without acknowledging the impact of the late Oluwatuyi, who was a recurrent decimal in Ondo State politics and governance.
He praised Oluwatuyi’s virtues, characterising him as a complete gentleman who lived his public and private life with dignity and humility.
Aiyedatiwa prayed for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace, pledged the government’s support for the family during this trying time.
In the condolence register, the governor wrote, “Tayo Oluwatuyi, you came, you lived, you performed your God-given tasks, and you impacted lives.
“You have decided to leave us at a time we never expected, but God said it is time to come home. May you have rest at the bosom of your creator.”
