Buhari wasn’t in charge of his government – Ndume

Former President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Ali Ndume, was not in charge of his administration, unlike the current President Bola Tinubu.

Ndume claimed that Buhari failed to regulate and supervise the activities of his appointees during his eight-year rule.

The Senator appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

Ndume voiced confidence in Tinubu’s recently proposed 2024 budget to the National Assembly, adding he has faith in the current president.

He said, “I believe in President Tinubu; I think he can change things. The president here is in charge; that’s one thing with him.

“Sometimes people even think Tinubu is too authoritative. No, he takes charge, unlike our former president, who will just give you an assignment and not look over you. That’s where the problem is, and he knows that. That was the mistake President Buhari made.”

Ndume went on to say that Buhari later concurred with his claim that his administration was riddled with kleptocrats’.

“He (Buhari) ended up confessing these days that he had more kleptocrats in his government. I said it before, and now he admits that there were some kinds of people who took over power for themselves. But in Tinubu’s government, you can’t do that,” the senator noted.

Ndume implored Nigerians to give him a chance, claiming the country would be better off under Tinubu.
