The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has warned the public about a fake invitation letter reportedly sent to Abubakar Washima, stating he had been accepted for enrollment.
The academy confirmed that the letter is fraudulent and did not come from the institution.
In a tweet on its X handle on Saturday, Academy Public Relations Officer Major Reuben Kovangiya said, “The Nigerian Defence Academy wishes to inform the general public that the purported invitation letter addressed to one Abubakar Washima informing him of being selected into the NDA is fake and did not originate from the NDA.
“For the benefit of doubt, any official invitation for screening or offer of admission into the prestigious military institution is officially released in national dailies and on the NDA website. Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise caution and disregard such fake correspondence. Any suspicious activity or document should be promptly reported through our official direct messaging channels for verification,” the post read.
Members of the public are advised to remain cautious and disregard any questionable correspondence.
The NDA also advised that any suspicious documents or activities be reported immediately via its official direct messaging channels for verification.
The warning is intended to safeguard prospective applicants from scams and emphasizes the necessity of only acquiring admission information from official NDA sources.
