Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda on his successful screening and return as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, together with other members of the National Working Committee.
Mutfwang, in a congratulatory message signed by the governor’s director of press and public affairs, Gyang Bere, on Saturday, described Prof. Goshwe’s emergence through a consensus arrangement as a thoughtful demonstration of the APC’s commitment to inclusive, people-oriented leadership under President Bola Tinubu, particularly as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The governor praised the maturity and foresight of party officials and stakeholders for continuing to foster unity, tolerance, and strategic reforms inside the party.
He stated that such initiatives have increased internal cohesion and created a level playing field for all members to pursue their goals without resentment.
Mutfwang also thanked Prof. Goshwe’s work and leadership after his unanimous adoption in June 2025.
He highlighted major measures such as party member reconciliation, party membership restructuring via e-registration, and the APC’s repositioning for long-term growth and electoral success.
The governor expressed trust in Yilwtda’s abilities, citing his skills in digital transformation, energy research, and ICT, as well as his experience as a resident electoral commissioner.
He stated that these qualities qualify him to lead the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mutfwang also thanked key national leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, as well as governors and other stakeholders, for allocating the national chairmanship to the North Central region, particularly Plateau State.
He went on to say that Plateau State is endowed with qualified persons with proven integrity in public service, and he is confident that Prof. Goshwe would nurture unity, peace, and progressive leadership within the party while expanding its tradition of justice, tolerance, and compassion.
“On behalf of the government and peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang congratulates Prof. Goshwe on this recognition and prays for God’s guidance, strength, good health, and wisdom as he assumes this leadership role,” the statement read.
