Argentine talisman Lionel Messi recently shared his thoughts on career priorities and life after football.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s X post on Wednesday, when asked if he would rather win another World Cup or another Ballon d’Or, Messi was unambiguous: “World Cup or another Ballon d’Or? “Another World Cup.”
Following Argentina’s World Cup victory in 2022, the Argentine superstar’s statements demonstrate his desire for international achievement.
Despite his record-breaking haul of individual trophies, Messi prioritized team success on the global stage over personal laurels.
When asked if he would rather be a club owner or a manager after retirement, the Argentine great replied, “I’d say club owner.”
Chronicle NG reports that the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner disclosed his thoughts on a potential appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saying he remains excited about the idea but will only take part if he feels physically capable of helping the Argentina national team.
