As the 2023 elections approach, it is essential to ensure that the voting process is conducted in a proper and acceptable manner. To achieve this, the National Defense College (NDC) is pioneering a conference on election security and political violence, focusing on the protection of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the stabilization of the country.

One key aspect of this effort is the implementation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which will help to announce results in a transparent and reliable way. The armed forces are also working to ensure free and fair electoral process, with the NDC organizing a workshop to build the capacity of the military and other security agencies to understand their roles in this process.

The Commandant of the NDC, Rear Adm. Murtala Bashir, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the armed forces and other security agencies in achieving a successful outcome in the 2023 elections. By bringing these agencies together and aligning their efforts, we can harness our resources and work towards a smooth and credible process.
