Manchester City comfortably beat Crystal Palace to move back within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal and ensure the tense title race continues into the final week of the season.

Pep Guardiola’s side knew failure to win on Wednesday would have handed the Gunners an opportunity to clinch the title by beating Burnley on Monday, but this fascinating fight for the trophy now looks set to go down to the wire.

With Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Chelsea in mind, Guardiola gambled with his team selection by making six changes and leaving out the attacking trio of Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and the in-form Jeremy Doku.

The numerous changes appeared to affect City early on, with the hosts producing a flat display before midfielder Phil Foden sparked the game into life.

The England international produced a sublime backheel to play Antoine Semenyo through on goal, and the Ghanaian forward finished clinically past Dean Henderson. Omar Marmoush then doubled the lead with a composed finish after another assist from Foden.

Full-back Tyrick Mitchell came closest for Palace with a powerful effort that was pushed away by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Savinho added a third late on to complete an impressive victory for City.
