Make Wike next vice presidential candidate, Omokri advises PDP, Atiku

Reno Omokri has called on Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2023 presidential election, to look for amicable ways to settle the rift between the party and Nyesom Wike.

Omokri, in a statement on Monday, noted that it is politically unwise for the PDP to antagonize the minister of the FCT.

The PDP is reportedly at loggerheads with Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, for allegedly working against the party during the 2023 presidential election.

His emergence as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory further underscored the love lost between him and the PDP.

Wike has also been at loggerheads with his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, a development that has caused political tension in the state.

Reacting to the alleged antagonism of the Minister by the PDP, Omokri advised the PDP to make Wike its vice presidential candidate in the next presidential election.

He noted that “politics is about addition, not subtraction,” and “it makes better sense to defeat him (Wike) by making him your friend.”

Omokri’s statement reads, “No matter what Wike did or did not do and how some of us in the Peoples Democratic Party may regret his actions or inactions, it makes little sense for some in the Atiku camp to antagonize him.

“Mature politics involves learning to work with even people that you do not like.

“As bad as Wike may be perceived by some in various camps, it makes better sense to defeat him by making him your friend. And even if you can only do that by offering him the VP slot, should God spare our lives? What is wrong with them?

“People who are emotionally led cannot strategically lead. If I were Waziri, I would call off anyone antagonizing Wike.

“He is the ultimate beneficiary or victim of whatever his camp does, with or without his knowledge and approval.

“Politics is about addition, not subtraction. If you add enough, you win. If you subtract too much, you lose. Read 1 Corinthians 5:5. Paul temporarily collaborated with Satan to achieve God’s plan.”
