A magician met his end at his own hand after a failure of his magic which ended in an accidental suicide of himself, in the presence of his spectators.
Theprit Palee, 25, was performing a Thai traditional dance in front of spectators in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, Wednesday afternoon when the incident occurred.
According to reports, the dead magician would press a long sword against his chest but instead of being impaled, the sword would break. This success has been recorded in previous shows impressing onlookers by appearing superhuman.
However, on the fateful day, rather than break into two, the sword went straight into his rib cage which fatally wounded him almost immediately.
Daily Mail reports that the folk ritual is said to honour the spirits of ancestors.
Crowds gathered round the man as they attempted to revive him but he was later pronounced dead at hospital.
