Trent Alexander-Arnold marked his return from injury with a decisive goal to hand Liverpool a 1-0 victory over Leicester City, moving the Reds within three points of the Premier League title and condemning the Foxes to relegation.

Despite Arsenal’s win over Ipswich delaying Liverpool’s official coronation, Arne Slot’s men came out determined.

Mohamed Salah nearly made an instant impact, striking both posts inside the first three minutes.

Leicester, fighting to survive, showed spirit. Stephy Mavididi was lively on the flank, setting up Wilfred Ndidi for a shot that also rattled the frame of the goal.

Still, Liverpool kept pressing, with Hermansen denying chances from Szoboszlai, Gakpo, and Díaz in a dominant display between the posts.

The Foxes believed they had taken the lead when Conor Coady found the back of the net, but VAR ruled it out due to a foul on Alisson Becker by Patson Daka. That reprieve seemed to awaken Liverpool further.

After Salah and Diogo Jota both struck the woodwork yet again, it was Alexander-Arnold who finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute with a thunderous strike. The right-back celebrated passionately in front of the away fans, who echoed chants of “we’re gonna win the league.”

Leicester‘s loss extended their dismal home record to nine consecutive games without scoring, confirming their relegation. Liverpool, meanwhile, are now just one win away from clinching the title.
