Bandits believed to be Lakurawa members have reportedly killed 15 people in Kwallajiya village, Tangaza Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
According to a village source who talked with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, the Lakurawa attack occurred on Wednesday afternoon, when suspected terrorists entered the community and attacked them.
He stated that the victims were buried according to Islamic rituals on Wednesday evening.
“We are deeply concerned about the continued acts of violence and the suffering communities are experiencing at the hands of bandits in various parts of this state.
“We strongly believe that such atrocities are often aided by information the bandits receive from some residents of the villages.
“It is, therefore, imperative that the public also intensify efforts to cooperate with security agencies,” the source said.
At the time of filing this report, the Sokoto State Police Command had yet to comment on the attack.
