Nigerians blast Kunle Afolayan over ‘raunchy’ dance with daughter

Nigerians blast Kunle Afolayan over 'raunchy' dance with daughter

Kunle Afolayan, an ace Nollywood actor and movie producer, has sparked controversy online for his dance routines with his daughter, Eyiyemi, at the premiere of his highly anticipated series, “Anikulapo: The Rise of the Spectre.”

Notable celebrities attended the movie premiere over the weekend, including Sola Sobowale, Lateef Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe, Bimbo Ademoye, D’Banj, Tunde Kelani, and many others.

However, a video from the premiere’s after-party shows Kunle Afolayan dancing with his daughter, Eyiyemi, who also appears significantly in the Anikulapo series.

Saying the dance between the doting father and daughter is “morally” wrong, in Kingsley Egbele’s reaction, he stated that, “There are certain things we shouldn’t do, no matter how liberal we think we are or whatever point it is that we want to prove. This is not morally right by any standard.

For Amarachi Grace, she noted that the dance is “wrong on all levels.”

She added that one should not be “spoon dancing” with his daughter like Afolayan did.

Accusing the pair of “incest,” Zhaddy Pflex stated, “This is rather offensive and morally wrong to me.

“The steps and moves seem rather sensual to me. I foresee infesting on the way; that’s if it’s not happening already.”

Buttressing Pflex’s point, Olorinjanbe Kolawole Amos stated, “As for me, this kind of dance between dad and daughter is not morally right.

“Before you know it, strange feelings will be coming from either or both of them.”

Calling the dance “inappropriate,” Alao Kahinde Hussain argued that “the human body has a mind of its own, and now he might start looking forward to the next one (dance) with her. Then he might falter, and incest comes in.”

“If Kunle Afolayan dances like that with his daughter, how then does he dance with his spouse or lover, and what style does the daughter dance with her partner? Is that a father-daughter’s dance?” Aisha Yakubu-Afegbua asked.

“Shameless man!”  Olori Apekeade slammed Afolayan. “Only God knows what other inappropriate activities they will be doing together behind closed doors. Forget fatherly love; there should be boundaries and limitations. Rocking your daughter shamelessly outside is a big no,” she added.

For Fife Sikemi, she argued that only lovers should dance in such a fashion when she said, “It’s very inappropriate and not a good look on him as a father and also the daughter.”

Sikemi also called for a boundary in the display of love between parents and children.
