The Speaker of the Kebbi state House of Assembly Hon Sama Ilah Abdulmuminu Kamba and his deputy Muhammad Buhari Alieru have been impeached on Tuesday.
Their impeachment was made public by the clerk to the house, Usman Ahmad Bunza.
According to Bunza, the House leaders had committed an impeachable offence hence their removal by the House.
The clerk also announced that Muhammad Abubakar Lolo will be sworn in as the new speaker while Honourable Usman Ankwai Zuru as his deputy.
The security situation at the state assembly was calm as armed policemen were seen at the entrance in case of any breakdown of law and order.
The plenary session was also calm as the leaders were stripped of their positions.
