Psquare’s former manager, Jude Okoye, has been released from Ikoyi prison after meeting his bail conditions in an ongoing N1.38 billion money laundering trial.

Jude, the eldest brother of music artists Peter and Paul Okoye, and his company, Northside Music Limited, are facing a seven-count prosecution before A. Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The charges include claims of money laundering of ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty during his initial arraignment on February 26, 2025, and was granted N100 million bail.

On March 3, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed an additional four-count charge, accusing him of diverting music profits destined for his brothers.

The prosecution claimed that he fraudulently transferred monies for personal use, including $767,544.15, £34,537.59, $133,566.49, and $118,652.20, “deliberately depriving Peter of his rightful earnings”.

He was granted N50 million bail for these new accusations, which he could not afford.

But on Wednesday evening, Paul took to Instagram to announce that his older brother had been released from prison.

He released videos of Jude exiting prison and reunited with his family after being separated for two months.

“Jude is finally out after 2 months, and all their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home, brother @judeengees. And happy birthday,” he wrote.
