John Arum Azi, a student of the University of Jos, UNIJOS, has been abducted by bandits while travelling from Jos, Plateau state to Kaduna state.

The 28-year-old keyboard technician was kidnapped along side six other passengers heading to Zaria, Kaduna state.

Chronicle NG gathered that Azi was headed to Zaria after been called by a client to come fix a keyboard before he was kidnapped.

A video clip making the rounds on social media shows the kidnappers brutally beating the UNIJOS with various sticks and sharp objects.

The clip, according to reports, was shot by the bandits with the victim’s phone before posting it into Azi’s class’ WhatsApp group.

In the clip, the victim was forced to kneel on the ground and beg his parents to swiftly meet the ransom demands while the bandits brutally flogged him with sticks.

The bandits have demanded a ransom of N30 million before the student will be released.

At the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to comment on the incident.
