Jeff Stelling, a Sky Sports veteran, has tipped Arsenal as the club to beat in the race for this season’s Premier League crown.
Stelling believes Mikel Arteta’s team will go into the season as favourites, saying that their nearest competitors have not improved enough to catch them.
The Gunners enter the new season following a fantastic campaign in which they won the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City and Manchester United.
They also advanced to the UEFA Champions League final before falling to Paris Saint-Germain.
Arteta has also reinforced his squad during the transfer window in a bid to compete on both domestic and European fronts.
Speaking to TalkSPORT on Monday, Stelling said, “For me, the challengers are not getting stronger.
“So at the moment, Arsenal, for me, are the clear, clear favourites in terms of the Premier League, but it’s a question of what they can do in Europe as well.”
