Imisi’s mother cries out, ‘my daughter doesn’t want to see me’

The mother of Imisi Ayanwale, the BBNaija Season 10 winner, has sparked speculation about a deepening family rift following a recent video she shared on social media.

In a TikTok post, she expressed gratitude to her friends, the Ebute-Metta community in Lagos, and her church members for supporting Imisi during her time on the reality show.

She also addressed personal allegations that resurfaced after her daughter’s victory, denying claims that she neglected Imisi before the show.

“I want to sincerely appreciate all those who stood by me during Imisi’s time on Big Brother. My friends, everyone in Ebute-Metta, the church, I am so grateful. I am at my younger one’s place in Ajah; some people do not even want us to visit them,” she said.

“…people who said I did not take care of my child, thank you for what you said. I was running around to ensure that my daughter wins, so she can become someone in life and lift me, her mother, out of poverty.

“…she said she does not want to see me wherever she is. Is it that serious? There is still a lot to talk about.”

Imisi’s mother also claimed she was sidelined during the show’s finale.

“On the day of the BBNaija finale, I wasn’t even told it was the final. It was a few minutes to 4 p.m. when they called me to start dressing up and to wear something presentable. I was even taken somewhere else initially,” she said.

During her time on the show, Imisi spoke openly about her strained relationship with her parents, revealing that they sent her out of the house when she was 12 — an event she described as traumatic, as she ended up being raped in a church storeroom where she sought refuge.
