The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has directed the immediate investigation of the killing of four US embassy staff in Anambra state.

Chronicle NG reported that a convoy of the US embassy was attacked in Ogbaru LGA in Anambra State on Tuesday. Four staff of the US embassy was killed in the attack.

In a statement on Wednesday, the police chief condemned the killing and ordered an immediate investigation.

While expressing shock at the dastard attack, the IGP termed it as a clear indication of the perpetrator’s inhumanity to man, evil intentions, and wickedness particularly to their kinsmen who were to receive relief and palliatives from the attacked envoy.

The IGP has ordered an immediate full-scale inquiry into the attack and has charged the investigative team to ensure the perpetrators and their sponsors are apprehended as soon as feasible and made to face the full wrath of the law.

In the same vein, the IGP warned all non-state actors that the Police force, working in conjunction with other security outfits will leave no stone unturned to crack down on them and their sponsors to rid the country of their menace.

The IGP while sympathizing with the US Consulate, the bereaved families, and the families of those kidnapped, assured them that all hands are on deck to arrest the killers and ensure the prompt rescue of the abductees.

The IGP also expressed the readiness of men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to work with all Expatriates in the country, assuring them of the security of their lives and properties.
