Heathrow Airport security staff has been arrested with cocaine

A security official at the Heathrow Airport has been arrested in an airport toilet by British officials after seven kilograms (15 pounds) of cocaine was seized.

The National Crime Agency said on Saturday that the 30-year-old man, from London, was arrested Thursday with a 37-year-old Colombian man in a lavatory in Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Officials say the Colombian man had just arrived on a flight from the Colombian capital Bogota.

Another man was arrested in the arrivals airport of the busy international airport and a fourth man was arrested at a London residential address.

All four are being questioned on suspicion of importing drugs.

Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in London, United Kingdom.

Heathrow is the second busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic surpassed only by Dubai International in 2014.

Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and the seventh busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic.

    In 2016, it handled a record 75.7 million passengers, a 1.0% increase from 2015.

In September 2012, the UK government established the Airports Commission, an independent commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies to examine various options for increasing capacity at UK airports.

In July 2015, the commission backed a third runway at Heathrow and the government approved a third runway in October 2016.
