Bayern Munich are in talks with England striker Harry Kane over a potential contract extension, the club’s sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed.
Kane the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 on a four-year deal worth an initial €100m (£86.4m).
Since his arrival in Munich, Kane has enjoyed a prolific spell, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions.
According to BBC Sports on Tuesday, Eberl said, ”We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt.
“Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”
In October, Kane stated that he “could definitely” see himself staying at Bayern and that his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit”.
This season, he has 34 goals in 30 games for Vincent Kompany’s team, including 21 in 19 Bundesliga appearances, as he attempts to break former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record of 41 goals in a single season.
Kane has also helped Bayern secure second place in the Champions League group stage table with one game remaining.
“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich.
“He and his family are settled in. Therefore, we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush, said Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen.”
