“The suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control,” Okpe went on to say.

She revealed that the injured victims were transferred to Famobis Hospital for treatment, while the bodies were dumped at Idera mortuary.

Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, described the event as avoidable if required precautions were taken and simple procedures were followed.

Uga recommended motorists to drive at a reasonable speed, especially at night when visibility is poor.

He expressed his condolences to the deceased’ families and urged them to contact the FRSC, Mowe unit Command, for additional information regarding the tragedy.
